FUNERAL PREPLANNING:

YOUR RESPONSIBILITY:
It is important that the desired funeral director be called immediately when a death has occurred. Our staff is available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. We are better able to serve you if we are called promptly.

ARRANGEMENTS:
Most of the details, and there are many of them, will be taken care of automatically by your funeral director. There are a few things, nevertheless, which demand the attention of the family. These things are necessary to complete the death certificate and obituary and must be supplied by the family. This information includes the full name, birth place and birth date of the deceased. His/her occupation, social security number, name of husband or wife, name of father and maiden name of mother. You will materially assist your funeral director by having this information jotted down so that it may be supplied promptly and accurately when requested.

Another very important matter for which the family is responsible concerns the selection of the casket. In general, caskets may be divided into woods or metals. Each offers certain specific advantages that are best explained and exemplified in the presence of the actual caskets. We at Jerry Smith Funeral Home feel it a privilege to counsel with your, and to aid you, if you wish, in selecting a casket of suitable material, design finish, color and price.

In our display room, you will find that prices are marked in plain figures, which show the price of the casket, and what materials are used to make the casket. This practice makes it a simple matter to select exactly what is desired within the price range the family has in mind.
