JERRY E. SMITH - OWNER & MANAGER, LICENSED FUNERAL
DIRECTOR/EMBALMER Jerry Smith is the son of Mildred Armstrong Smith and the late W. Ralph Smith of Athens, Tennessee. He is the grandson of the late C. Edward (Cap) and Jennie Cross Smith of the Sanford Community near Riceville, Tennessee and A. Park and Odessa Ford Armstrong of Athens, Tennessee. He is a lifelong resident of McMinn County. He is a graduate of McMinn County High School and attended Tennessee Wesleyan College, and John A. Gupton College of Mortuary Science in Nashville, Tennessee. At age 14, he became associated with Robert E. and Harry R. Evans of Evans Funeral Home, during High School and College. Following graduation from Mortuary School, he was associated with J.D. Hill Funeral Home in Summerville, Georgia before returning to his hometown and purchased Evans Funeral Home of Athens. |

LORETTA HOLLAND WEBB - FUNERAL DIRECTOR/OFFICE MANAGER A native of McMinn County, Loretta has been associated with Jerry Smith Funeral Home for 40 years. |

JEFFREY HAYES - LICENSED FUNERAL DIRECTOR/EMBALMER Jeff joined the staff of Jerry Smith Funeral Home in August 2005 after serving 3 years as the Director/Deputy Director of the United States Army mortuary in Landstuhl Germany tasked with the return of deceased Active Duty Soldiers from the European and Middle Eastern Theater to the United States. Jeff is a 1992 graduate of Coffee County Central High and a 1993 graduate of John A. Gupton College in Nashville, TN. Jeff is also a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving from 1994-1999 as an embalmer and funeral director. |

DAVID BALLEW - FUNERAL DIRECTOR APPRENTICE/ASSISTANT David joined the staff of Jerry Smith Funeral Home in December 2003. He is currently working toward his Funeral Director’s license as an apprentice. |

MICHEAL HAWKINS - ASSISTANT Micheal joined the staff of Jerry Smith Funeral Home in 2001. He is a native of Trion, Georgia and a graduate of Berry College of Rome Georgia. |

DAVID A. SMITH - VICE PRESIDENT David is a lifelong resident of Athens and McMinn County. He is a graduate of McMinn County High School , University of Tennessee in Knoxville, and John A. Gupton College in Nashville. He is also the principle owner of Ziegler Funeral Home of Athens. |
